How Credit History is Compiled
Sunday, September 7, 2008
If you are associated with the credit market, then it is very much necessary for you to know about the process of compilation of credit history. In the USA, the credit history of the consumers is compiled by some specific agencies. Such agencies are known as credit rating agencies. The credit rating is popularly known as credit bureaus or consumer reporting agencies. It is the responsibility of the agency to compile the personal credit history of different consumers. For this the necessary data are provided by different creditors. Such data contain all relevant information like detail records of transaction, payment history and credit limit. It also gives information about if any action has been taken earlier by the lender to recover the debt.
When, a borrower approaches to a lender for a fresh loan, the lender will go through such information and asses the position of the borrower and then he will take decision if loan can be issued to the borrower or not. But in many occasions, the lender finds increasingly difficulty in understanding the true position of the borrower from the credit report. So to make the process more easy and effective, a system of credit score is used now a day. If your credit score is higher, the lender will be willing to give your fresh loan easily. So credit scoring has an important bearing both for the lender and borrower.
